Things to Do in Komodo
Labuan Bajo is a working harbour town rather than a beach resort, and it's genuinely a jumping-off point first โ most visitors are there to board a liveaboard or day boat into Komodo National Park, not to sightsee on land, though the sunset views from the hillside bars above the harbour are worth a couple of evenings on their own. In the park itself, dragon sightings on a ranger-guided trek across Komodo or Rinca island are very likely, particularly around ranger stations, though what varies is distance and behaviour: some visits mean a dragon resting quietly off the trail, others a more active animal moving through camp, and rangers carry forked sticks for exactly that reason. Pink Beach and the surrounding islands add some of Indonesia's best snorkelling and diving to the same trip. Reaching Labuan Bajo means a flight from Bali, not a short hop, so most visitors block out several days. Below are the top-rated Komodo boat trips and tours.
